Meet Jake.

When Jake was 15 months old, his parents began to worry.   Jake wouldn’t make eye contact and wasn’t speaking or babbling at all. Jake was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3.

For Jake’s parents, the days following his diagnosis were spent in a fog.  They knew that he would now qualify for services through the school district and began to go through the motions of enrolling him in public school programs.  They hoped it would be enough to help their son. It wasn’t enough. Jake wasn’t progressing like his parents desperately hoped he would. Jake’s mom and dad began to research private therapy options and were devastated to find that the costs would be astronomical. What insurance would cover was limited. The family felt they had no options to reach their son.
“As an autism parent, you do a LOT of hoping and praying- HOPING that your child will be able to live his best life and PRAYING you can do everything in your power to make that happen. When we couldn’t make therapy happen for Jake, it was devastating.”
– Jake’s Mom
It wasn’t until Imagine A Way offered to help Jake’s family that they could finally breathe again. Jake now receives 30 hours per week of ABA therapy.  Only one month after beginning therapy, Jake began saying 3 and 4 word sentences! Before therapy, Jake could say “Mommy.” Now, he can say, “I love you, Mommy.”   Jake continues to progress and his mom and dad hear new words every day.
“This has truly been a Godsend for Jake and our family. As he learns to talk more and tell us what he wants and needs, his behaviors have also diminished. Being able to communicate is so vital and Imagine A Way gave that to Jake.”
– Jake’s Mom
Before receiving help from Imagine A Way, Jake’s family felt hopeless for his future.  Imagine A Way did more than just provide therapy for Jake. His family now has HOPE.
“It is so encouraging knowing we have the support of this group. Being an autism family can feel so isolating and getting this kind of help is monumental in changing that. We still have a long road ahead, but we are now hopeful and will be forever grateful to Imagine A Way!”
